Satan’s Secret Weakness - The Truth That Changes Everything

Do you ever feel like you're fighting a battle that you just can't win?

You pray and the pressure just doesn't stop.

You push back one thought and two more show up almost instantaneously.

You try to stand strong, but it feels relentless.

And maybe you've thought this.

Why does this keep happening to me?

Why do I keep struggling?

Is the enemy just stronger than me?

But what if I told you that entire story is built on a lie?

What if the enemy you fear has a weakness he doesn't want you to understand?

And once you see changes, everything.

World falls apart.

Hello.

I'm really glad you're here today.

My name is Ralph Estep Jr. And this is Truth Unveiled.

With Ralph, this is where we take real struggles, real spiritual battles, real questions, and we bring them back to what God actually says.

Because the truth is this.

The enemy doesn't win by overpowering you.

He wins by misleading you.

And today, we're going to expose something he hopes you never fully understand.

His weakness.

And I remember a season in my life.

Everything looked fine on the outside.

My business was moving.

I was doing really well.

Life was structured.

I was doing all the right things.

But internally, I was exhausted.

Not physically exhausted, I mean spiritually exhausted.

Because I was fighting battles without even understanding the fight that I was in.

And I thought that pressure meant that I was losing somehow.

I thought that struggle meant that I. I wasn't strong enough.

But what I didn't understand was this.

I wasn't losing to power.

I was believing lies.

So let's get right into it.

We live in a world that either ignores spiritual warfare or fears it.

A lot of people act like there's no enemy at all.

But yet others act like he's unstoppable.

But friend, both of those people are wrong.

Because the truth is, there is a real enemy.

The enemy exists, but he's not ultimate.

And if you misunderstand that, you're either going to live careless or you're going to live afraid.

And see, the Bible is very clear on this.

This is not a physical battle.

Now, let's get our Bibles out.

We're going to go to First Peter, chapter five, verse eight.

And it says this.

Be self controlled and alert your enemy.

The devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

Devour lion.

Roaring lion.

That's real.

But notice the language here.

Like a roaring lion.

And that's Critical that you understand that he's not the lion.

He's just an imitation.

And most of his power is in the roar.

Think about this.

A lion doesn't always attack first.

If you've watched television, you've seen those safari shows, sometimes it just roars.

And that roar, as I understand it, can be heard for miles.

You might be asking, why is that?

Because the goal isn't always to strike.

It's to intimidate somebody, to paralyze them, to make that prey freeze right where they are before the attack even begins.

And that's exactly how the enemy works.

The thoughts hit us, that pressure builds, the fear rises.

And before anything actually happens, you're already overwhelmed.

But let's understand how he really works here, because if you don't understand his strategy, you're going to misinterpret your struggle.

Which means we got to go to Ephesians.

So let's get our Bibles, and we are going to go to Ephesians.

Let me get to that right now.

We are going to go to Ephesians, chapter 6 and chapter 6, verse 12.

I always encourage you follow along in your Bible if you're.

If you're driving in your car, probably not a good time to do it.

But when you get home, you can always look up our scripture references.

But this is Ephesians, chapter 6, verse 12.

And it says, for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

And I thought about that for a second.

The battle isn't your boss.

Might feel like it at times.

The battle isn't your spouse.

I feel like that at times, too.

The battle isn't your situation.

Yes, those are battlegrounds.

But the real fight that we're all experiencing is spiritual.

And he has two main weapons, and I want to explore those right now.

He uses two primary weapons, deception and accusation.

Let's get right into deception.

And this is better highlighted in the Bible.

This is in the Book of John, chapter eight.

Let me get to that right now.

Chapter.

I love the Book of John.

Very poetic.

Chapter John or chapter John.

John, chapter 8, verse 44.

Let's get right to that right now.

So John, chapter 8, verse 44.

All right, 8, 44.

And it says, you belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire.

He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him.

When he lies, he speaks his native Language.

For he is a liar and the father of lies.

Think about it.

He lies about God.

What did he say to Jesus?

God doesn't care about you.

God is holding out on you.

And he lies about you as well.

He tells you things like, you're not enough.

You're never going to change.

He lies about your situation.

He says to you, this is hopeless.

And he says to you, you're alone.

And if you believe the lie, you start living like it's true.

Well, the other thing he does is he uses accusation.

Now, we're going to get right into the Book of Revelation to talk about this.

This is the Book of Revelation, and this is chapter 12, verse 10.

Let me get to Revelation 12, verse 10.

Well, that one I went right to.

And it says this.

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say, now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ for the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night has been hurled down.

Think about that for a second.

He tempts you.

Then he condemns you and says to you, see, you failed again.

Just another failure.

You're a hypocrite.

God is done with you.

And see, that's his goal.

His goal is not just to make you fall.

It's to make you run from God after you fall.

Because a believer in shame is a believer without strength.

And I just want to stop for a second here if today's message is hitting home.

If you felt that battle, I want you to declare something right now.

And you can say this out loud.

You can put it into the chat, whatever you want to.

I want you to just say it out loud.

I am not a victim.

I am not a victim.

Because we are about to shift to something super important.

You're not a victim.

Now, here's where everything changes.

Satan operates on a leash.

Yeah, I said a leash.

A divine leash.

Hear me on this.

He's not equal to God.

He's not independent.

He is actually under authority.

Let me give you a picture of this.

Imagine a large dog.

Say you're walking out.

Walking.

I like to walk.

I see this large dog.

And at first, when I see this dog, I'm a little concerned.

Is that dog going to jump and grab me?

But then I notice the dog has a collar and the dog is chained to a post.

Now, that dog is barking.

The dog is growling.

He's lunging at me.

If I didn't see that chain, I'd be terrified.

But once I see that Chain.

Everything changes.

Because now you know something, it can only go so far.

That dog can only leap out so far.

And see, the enemy is loud, but he's limited.

And, friend, God is the one holding the chain there.

Now, I want to get into the book of Job.

I'm not going to read the chapters here, but Job one and two.

I just want to kind of summarize it, because this is where we really get into it.

This is where Satan appears before God.

And what do we find here?

Satan cannot act without permission.

God actually says, you can touch this, but not that.

You can go this far, but no further.

And that changes everything.

Just think about that for a second.

It changes everything because it means his power is not his own.

It's permitted, it's limited, and it's controlled.

Well, let's get right back into the word.

Let's go to the book of Luke, Luke, chapter 22, verses 31 and 32.

So let's get to Luke.

Luke's not one that I read a lot.

But let's get into Luke 22, 31, 32.

Okay, and it says this.

Simon, Simon, Satan asked to sift you as wheat.

But I've prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail.

And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.

Satan has asked to sift you.

Interesting thought.

But what is this telling us?

He had to ask, do you see that the enemy that you fear has to request access?

Even then, God sets the boundary.

See, his greatest weapon is not power.

It's illusion.

He wants you to believe.

He wants you to believe that he has more authority than he actually does.

Because if you believe that, you'll surrender what he could never take on his own.

Let's put this into real life.

Let's talk about what this looks like on a Tuesday morning, Normal Tuesday morning.

You wake up.

And then the thought hits, I'm behind.

I'm not doing enough.

Something bad is coming my way.

But nothing's actually happened yet.

But in your own mind, your peace is already gone.

Why?

Because that roar worked, didn't it?

You heard that roar off in the distance.

Or maybe it's this.

You mess up.

You lose your temper.

Guilty of that one.

You fall into something again.

And immediately you hear that roar.

See, you haven't changed.

You're the same as you always been.

God's so tired of you, friend.

God is never tired of you.

And that's not conviction.

That's accusation.

So what do we do with this?

Sounds good, right?

How do we actually live this out?

When the pressure Hits.

When those thoughts come and when that battle feels real right here in front of us, friend, we stop fighting for victory and we start living from victory.

Victory, that changes everything.

Because when you live like that, you're not trying to win.

You're standing in what's already been won.

Do you see the difference there?

You don't need to win the battle.

It's already been won.

That's the good news of this.

But let's get real practical.

The book of James.

First thing you do, submit to God.

James 4.

7 Says, Submit yourselves, resist the devil.

See, submission comes first.

Not control, not striving, not trying harder.

Surrender.

And honestly, this is where most people struggle.

I struggle in this area because we want control.

We want to fix it, we want to manage it.

We want to figure it all out.

But victory doesn't start with control.

It starts with release.

Something like, God, I give this to you.

I give you my thoughts, I give you my fears, I give you my struggle.

I give you my situation.

Submission is not weakness.

I am sick and tired of people saying, well, if you submit, you're being weak.

It's not weakness, it's positioning.

It places you under God's authority.

And when you're under his authority, you're standing in his protection.

It doesn't get any stronger than that.

But the second thing is, you got to resist the devil.

See, this is where you take your stand.

This is active.

This isn't passive.

Not ignoring, not hoping it goes away.

You resist, you confront, you push back.

Because let's be honest for a second here, those thoughts feel real.

I think in my own life, I start thinking to myself, well, that's who I am.

I'm never going to change.

This isn't going to get any better.

No, that's where resistance begins.

You don't entertain the lie at all.

You interrupt it.

That's not truth.

That's not who I am.

That is not what God says.

And here's the promise.

Not maybe, not eventually, not if you're strong enough.

What does the Bible say?

It says he will flee.

Why?

Because you're not standing alone.

You're standing in authority.

But you've also got to use the word.

Jesus said many times.

It is written.

That's important.

He never said, well, I feel like it.

Oh, I think maybe Jesus never said, well, I sure hope this works.

No truth.

Because the battle is happening in your mind.

And lies don't lead because you feel better.

They leave when they're replaced with truth.

And when fear shows up.

And friend, fear is going to show up in your life.

You speak peace.

And when anxiety rises and anxiety is going to rise, at times you speak trust.

And when shame whispers, you're never going to get better.

This is just who you are.

You speak identity.

It is written.

It is written.

And when you do that, something shifts.

Now, it's not always instantly in your emotions, but immediately in the spiritual authority of that moment.

And then I want to encourage you to stand in your identity.

Now, this one's going to get pretty deep, because the enemy's greatest attack is not your behavior.

It's your identity.

The enemy wants you to believe that you are your past.

He'll tell you that.

He's told me that so many times.

Ralph, you are the controlling person.

You are the person with the temper.

You are the person that doesn't do the right things.

That's what he wants me to believe.

He wants me to believe that I am my mistakes.

Ralph, those mistakes you made, those define you.

That's who you are.

And he wants you to believe that you are your failure.

But that's not who you are.

You are who God says you are.

What does God say?

You are forgiven.

Redeemed.

Made new.

And listen, you don't fight to become that.

You fight from that.

Because guess what?

You're already there.

So when the accusation comes, and it's going to come, you don't argue.

You don't defend it.

You just stand.

You stand and say, that's not what I am anymore.

That's been covered.

That's been paid for.

I belong to him.

But don't fight this alone.

You were never meant to carry this alone.

And the enemy knows that.

Because in isolation, that's where his voice gets louder and louder.

That's where those lies echo.

That's where that discouragement just grows and grows.

And that's where you start believing things you should never believe if someone else was standing beside you.

But community breaks that.

Community breaks that.

When someone reminds you of truth, you're not your mistakes.

You're not who you were before.

It breaks when somebody prays for you.

And when someone stands with you, everything shifts.

You get stronger, you get clearer, and you get grounded again.

So this is how you walk into victory.

Not perfectly, not effortlessly, but consistently.

You surrender.

It starts there.

You stand.

You speak truth.

You remember who you are, and you stay connected.

And when you do those things, you stop living like a target and you start walking like someone who's already won, because you've already won.

So let me ask you right now, where have you Been believing that roar that you hear in the distance, whereas the enemy's voice felt louder than God's truth?

Is it in your thoughts late at night when everything gets quiet and your mind just starts running in circles?

Mine's been there many times.

Is it in your past, that thing you just keep replaying over and over again, that moment you wish you could undo?

Man, I've got a million of those.

Is it in your current situation where nothing seems to be changing and you just feel stuck?

Where have you been?

Living like a victim instead of a child of God?

Because those are two very different lives.

One is reactive.

It's fear.

Driven, defeated before the day even starts.

The other one is grounded.

It's covered.

It's anchored in truth.

Even when things don't feel stable, there are going to be times in your life where things don't feel stable.

So I want to encourage you this week, we're not just going to hear this.

We're going to actually live it.

Not all at once, not perfectly, but intentionally.

And here's how you do that.

Start by identifying the lie you've been believing.

Name it.

Say it out loud.

Don't avoid it.

Don't dress it up.

Don't make it pretty.

Identify it.

Is it I'm not enough.

I'll never change.

This is hopeless.

And call it what it is, a lie.

It's a lie.

But then you got to replace it with something.

And I'm going to encourage you to replace it with scripture.

Not your opinion, not something somebody said that's, oh, motivational.

It sounds good, but it doesn't work.

Replace it with truth.

Find what God says about that exact lie and let that become your anchor.

This book right here, the Bible, it's got a ton of anchors in it.

There are a bunch here.

Find that and let that become your anchor.

And then once you find that anchor, speak truth out loud.

It's okay to shout things out loud.

People might think you're a little crazy, but that's okay.

God hearing you.

Don't just keep it in your head.

Say it out loud.

Because there's something powerful about declaring truth where fear used to live.

Because you're not just thinking differently, you're shifting the atmosphere.

One of the other things I think you've got to do is stay connected to God daily.

Not out of obligation, but out of a relationship.

If you've got a relationship with somebody, you stay connected to them.

You're involved in their life.

You understand what's going on, even if it's just a few Minutes.

Hey, I'm just checking in on you.

Even if it feels simple, do that same thing with God.

I'm going to encourage you.

Do that first thing in the morning when your feet hit the floor.

God, here I am.

What will you have for me today?

It doesn't have to be anything more than that.

It doesn't have to be some elaborate prayer, some long, drawn out thing.

Just sit with him, talk to him, open up his word, like we've done today.

Because the truth is, the more time you spend in his presence, the less convincing the enemy's voice becomes.

After a while, that roar just fades away.

This is how change begins.

Not in some grand big moment, but in small, consistent decisions every day.

Truth over lies.

Connection over isolation, and authority over fear.

And as you do this, you're going to start to notice something.

That roar that you've heard for so many years just doesn't sound as powerful anymore.

Because now you know about the leash.

Now, maybe right now.

You've been fighting for a long time.

You've been holding it together on the outside, but you are exhausted on the inside.

Yeah, you're putting on a smile and face in front of people, but man, you are carrying weight that no one else can see.

And if you're being honest, it's not just the pressure of life.

It's the lies.

Those lies have been following you for years.

You're not enough.

You've gone too far.

You're never going to change.

God wouldn't want someone like you.

And maybe you've started to believe those lies.

Not because you wanted to believe them, but because they've been so constant.

They've been so loud and they've been so convincing.

So you've been trying to fix it yourself.

You've been trying to do better.

I'm going to live a good life.

I'm going to be better.

I'm going to hold it all together.

If you're being honest, it never quite works, does it?

Because you've been trying to win a battle without surrendering to the one who already won the battle for you.

And listen, this is the moment.

This isn't an accident.

Not coincidence.

I truly believe you are here right now for a reason.

Because something in you know something.

You can't keep living like this.

And you don't have to.

The book of Romans, chapter 10, verses 9 and 10.

Say something beautiful.

It says, if you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord and you believe it in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

You will be Saved.

Not maybe, not someday you will be saved.

And this isn't about religion.

This isn't about being perfect.

This is about surrender.

It's about letting go of trying to carry everything yourself and placing your life into the hands of Jesus.

So, friend, right now, if that's you, if you're feeling that pressure right now, you feel that nudge, I want you to pray this with me.

Not as simple words to repeat, but as decision to make right here, right now.

Jesus, I'm tired.

I'm tired of doing this on my own.

I've been believing lies about you and about me.

And today, right at this moment, I let them go.

I surrender.

I stop fighting alone.

I give you my life.

All of it.

My past, my mistakes, my fears, my future.

Forgive me, Lord.

Make me new.

Teach me who I really am in you.

Be my savior.

Be my Lord.

I trust you.

Amen.

If you just prayed that everything just changed, not because you feel different, yet nothing, nothing miraculous just happened right then and there.

You're not going to feel this right away, but something real just happened in your life.

You're not who you were.

You are now forgiven.

You are restored.

And you are now a child of God.

And that voice that told you you weren't enough just lost its power.

Because now you belong to Him.

You're not powerless.

You're not alone.

And you're not a victim.

And listen, I don't care what the last season looked like.

I don't care how loud the lies been.

I don't care how many times you've fallen.

That is not your identity.

Because the enemy may roar, but he's on a leash.

And your Father in heaven, he holds the chain which means nothing has touched your life without passing through his hands.

Not the pain, not the struggle, not the confusion.

And that doesn't mean it was easy.

That doesn't mean it didn't hurt.

But it does mean you were never abandoned.

And even in those moments you thought God was silent, God, where are you?

He was still present.

And even when you felt surrounded, friend, he was still covering you.

Even when you believe the lie that I'm too far gone, you weren't.

Because you are not defined by what you've been through.

You're defined by what Christ has already done.

And what he did was enough.

Completely enough.

I would love to close in prayer right now.

Father, I lift up every person here in this right now.

You know exactly where they are.

You know what they've been carrying.

You know the lies that they've been believing.

And right now, in this moment, in the name of Jesus, I. I ask you to break every lie of their life.

Just break them, Lord.

Every voice that's told them they are not enough.

You're not enough.

Just silence those, Lord.

Replace fear with peace.

Replace confusion with clarity and replace shame with identity.

Remind them who you are and whose they are.

And I just ask that you would give us all strength to stand, the courage to resist and the confidence to walk in authority.

And honestly the awareness that we're never fighting this alone.

Let this be the moment where everything begins to change.

In Jesus name I pray.

Amen.

Listen to me.

You don't leave this moment the same.

Don't go back to living under the lies.

Don't go back to shrinking in fear.

I encourage you, walk forward knowing the truth.

The enemy has been defeated.

That leash is real and your authority is already given.

So stand firm, speak truth, and walk boldly.

Because you're not a victim.

You're his.
