The Gift Left Unopened — A Christmas Message You Can’t Miss

Alright, friends. Today, I want to slow things down and invite you into a deeper reflection on the season we’re celebrating. Christmas is so often wrapped in decorations, schedules, and constant motion that we can miss the very gift it’s meant to point us toward—the one that too often remains unopened. In the middle of all the noise, the joy of Christmas can feel just out of reach. This season isn’t merely about traditions or festivities; it’s an invitation to something far more meaningful. It calls us to pause, reflect, and truly embrace what Christmas represents at its core. At the end of this episode, I’ll be sharing a new song called “The Gift Left Unopened.” It’s a musical reflection on this very idea, and I hope it resonates with you in a personal and powerful way. Stay with me, and let’s explore together how we can move beyond the surface and step fully into the true meaning of Christmas.

This Christmas special centers on the gift we often celebrate but fail to fully unwrap—the one meant to bring lasting joy, yet somehow feels just out of reach. In this bonus episode, I dive into what Christmas truly means, and it goes far beyond presents, lights, and seasonal traditions. At its heart, Christmas is an invitation to embrace a joy and love that have been intentionally given to us. I reflect on the profound reality of God stepping into our brokenness and chaos to offer salvation. That truth alone reshapes the entire season. The song “The Gift Left Unopened” brings this message home in a powerful way, serving as a reminder not to let the noise and busyness of the holidays drown out the real reason we celebrate. It ties the message together beautifully, like a final ribbon on a meaningful gift. My hope is that this season, we choose not to leave that gift unopened.

Takeaways:

  1. Christmas is all about opening the gift of salvation that's waiting for you.
  2. Don't let the holiday chaos drown out the real joy we're meant to celebrate.
  3. Jesus came to offer us love and grace, not just a festive season.
  4. We often feel empty inside despite all the decorations and lights around us.
  5. The true Christmas message invites us to not leave the gift unopened this year.
  6. God's love is personal and intentional, meant for everyone feeling broken or lost.

Hey, friends. Welcome to a very special Christmas bonus episode of Truth Unveiled today.I want to talk about the gift that so many people celebrate but never actually open. Because Christmas isn't just a season, it's actually an invitation. And if we're not careful, the noise of December can drown out the very reason we celebrate it all. Christmas is supposed to bring us joy, but for many of us, that joy feels just out of reach. And that's why this song I'm releasing today is called the Gift Left Unopened. And I'm going to add this song to the end of this episode. And you also find a music video on our YouTube channel and we'll put a link to it in the show notes. We actually been releasing songs each week with the episode, so if you haven't heard any of them or seen the videos, I want to encourage you to follow the link in the show notes. We've created a playlist on YouTube as well that ties all of this together. The songs are also being released on Apple Music, itunes, and Spotify and all the major music platforms. Let's get back to the thought, the idea behind the gift left unopened.Because that's exactly what happens in the hearts of so many people every single year. I want to just read the opening lines to you. The season glitters all around but hearts are empty underneath. We chase the joy we never find through wrapping paper, Lights and trees. Isn't that real? See, we can decorate everything on the outside and still feel completely empty on the inside.Because culture can entertain you, but only Jesus Christ can transform you. And then a song shifts to the eyes of Bethlehem and I'll read it to you again. But in a silent Bethlehem, God stepped into our broken night. The Holy One came to save the gift that brings the dead to life. See, that's Christmas. God stepping into the darkness. God entering our broken night. God coming for us.And Christmas only makes sense when you remember why Jesus came in the first place. He didn't come to create a holiday. He came to offer salvation. And that's why the course says this. Don't leave the gift unopened.Salvation is in your hands. A savior born to free you. The spotless, perfect lamb. And there's this powerful line I added. He took the cross before the cradle.I just want you to think about that for a second. Before the manger, God already saw the cross. Before the angels sang, he already saw those nails. See, that's the love of God. That's intentional. That's personal. That's sacrificial. But there's another line in the Christmas story that breaks my heart every time. There was no room for them in the inn.See, from his first breath, Jesus understood what it feels like to be ignored. He felt what it feels like to be overlooked and unwanted. And I believe this song captured this so beautifully.Imagine holding out your heart, a gift you chose with love and care, but they refused to even look, as if what's precious isn't there. And we've all felt that. We've all experienced that rejection. But then comes the truth of Christmas, right in the song. That's how it is with Christ the King who came to give us what we could never earn. He stands and knocks with endless love, waiting for just one heart to turn. Jesus is still knocking today. Jesus is still inviting today.Jesus is still offering your grace. But here's the battle we face today. The cultural noise, the pressure, the busyness, the comparison, the constant distraction. But through it all, God whispers this. And I put this in the pre course. And still he whispers through the noise, My child, this gift is yours by choice. See, that's the key.We choose, we decide. We open the gift or we leave it sitting unopened. One of my favorite parts of the song is the bridge because it preaches the gospel as clearly as anything I could say. In the chaos, in the heartbreak, there is a voice whispering your name. In your failure, in your longing, Jesus came to erase your shame.See, that's what Christmas is really about. That's why he came. He didn't come for perfect people. He didn't come for people who have it all together. He came for the broken. He came for the hurting. He came for the overwhelmed. And yes, he came for the ashamed. And the lyrics say it plainly. He didn't come for perfect people. He came for the broken and the lost. The manger points to Calvary. The Christmas gift was bought with blood. The manger was never the end of the story. It was the beginning of the rescue. And then comes the invitation that call that moment of decision the final course. Open the gift. Mercy flood your soul. The change you carried for a lifetime can be broken and loose their hold. The Savior came for this moment to make your wounded spirit whole. Open the gift. Let Jesus write your name in glory's role. And then I just ended with this powerful tag. Don't leave it unopened. Not this time. And friends, that's my prayer for you this Christmas. Don't leave it unopened. Don't walk past the manger. Don't walk and miss The Messiah. Don't celebrate the season and miss the Savior. The greatest gift you will ever receive was already purchased. It was already wrapped in love and already placed right before you. Guess what? You just have to open it. Not this time. Not this Christmas. Not with everything God is offering you. How about we pray together? Lord Jesus, we ask that you would help us to hear your whisper through the noise.Help us to see your love through the chaos. Help us to open the gift that you came to give us. Thank you so much for stepping into our darkness. Thank you for carrying our shame. And thank you for offering salvation freely and fully for every person listening right now. Lord, I ask that you would give them courage to say yes to that gift of grace. And we pray this in your name. Amen. Merry Christmas, friends. And whatever you do, don't leave the gift unopened. God bless you. Have a great day.
